Editorial standards

We write for drivers first. A helpful page should quickly explain where the station is, what fuel or charger type is listed, whether public access is reported, and what to confirm before leaving.

Data accuracy policy

Stations can change names, hours, access rules, connectors, or pricing. We show the details available from the source, label missing values clearly, and avoid live-availability claims unless a trusted source provides them.

Source transparency

Station information comes mainly from NREL/AFDC Alternative Fuel Stations data. We also link to the official AFDC station locator where it helps readers compare source information.

Corrections and updates

Visitors can report outdated station details by emailing corrections@alternativefuelstations.com. The most helpful messages include the station name, city, state, station URL or station ID, and the detail that needs review. We can fix our wording, add a note when appropriate, or point the visitor to the official source, station operator, or network when the source record itself needs correction.

Advertising and editorial separation

Ads and sponsorships do not decide whether a station appears in the directory. Station facts should come from source data, a clear correction process, or an official station or network reference.
